    Jay Reinemann
    Partner

    As a partner at Propel Venture Partners, Jay invests in early-stage companies that are leveraging technology to transform financial services. He has led investments in Coinbase, DocuSign, and Personal Capital, among others. Before BBVA spun off the fund and became a limited partner, Jay led BBVA Ventures and the global bank’s acquisition of Simple.

    Prior to Propel, Jay held several positions at Visa in digital transformation, emerging projects, and ecommerce. As head of the Visa Corporate Ventures and Strategic Alliances group he led investments in information security, mobile, and payments technology companies—several of which were acquired by major corporations. He first came to Visa through his work with Andersen Consulting.

    Jay’s career spans traditional banking to tech startups: He was a commercial loan officer at Old Kent Financial Corporation—back before it became part of Fifth Third—and helped launch TicketTruck, a social commerce platform.

    David Mort

    As a partner at Propel, David invests in early-stage companies that are leveraging technology to transform financial services. David has served on the board of Steady and works closely with companies such as Newfront, Hippo, Ease, and TravelBank. His professional experience includes working at leading retail and commercial banks, Silicon Valley Bank and BBVA.

    At BBVA, David focused on venture capital investments, corporate development, strategy, and M&A. He was involved in BBVA’s acquisition of Simple and investments in companies such as Docusign, Coinbase, Earnest, SumUp, and Personal Capital.

    At Silicon Valley Bank, David worked with hundreds of venture capital backed startups in the technology industry including many category-defining software companies. In addition to supporting startups with valuation engagements, David led research efforts in emerging industries, and efforts to identify top-performing companies utilizing data from within the bank.

    David graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he double majored in Finance, Investment & Banking, and Management & Human Resources – Entrepreneurship.

    Andrew Galvin
    Director of Finance

    As the Director of Finance at Propel Venture Partners, Andrew is responsible for overseeing the accounting and overall financial operations of the funds and management company. He is also involved with various investment support, investor relations, portfolio management and legal processes.

    Prior to Propel, Andrew worked as a Senior Manager at Standish Management providing fund administration services to some of the world’s top venture capital firms. He started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers working in the investment management tax group and then spent some time in the hedge fund industry in tax and as a Controller at firms like Farallon Capital, Valiant Capital and Theorem LP. He is a CPA (inactive) and earned his B.S. in Accounting from Cal Poly State University San Luis Obispo.

    Krista Peters
    Office Manager & Executive Assistant

    Krista handles operations and project management responsibilities across Propel Venture Partners and provides logistical support for the investment team. She has been particularly focused on developing and expanding the firm’s events program.

    Her prior operational experience includes office and team management in the hospitality, insurance, and accounting industries.

    She holds a BA in international business from the University of Las Vegas Nevada. She’s also a certified sommelier, and has related interests in regional cuisine and mindful travel.
